We emphasize the conservation of species [and their hybirds, ranging from F1's/first generation to complexes with 4-5 species]. Our aim is to promote conservation through cultivation of select, nursery propagated amaryllids. Preservation of rare New World amaryllid germplasm is a a long term goal for us. Cultivating these types of rare plants relieves pressure of over-collecting plants from natural populations. Hopefully, you'll be inspired and appreciate these elegant bulbous plants. Most amaryllid species (like orchids) are threatened worldwide by economic development brought on by urban expansion. Indigenous peoples across the globe have admired and grown bulbous plants for many centuries. European explorers introduced many New World plants to the horticultural industry. Amaryllids are just one group that are as desirable as they were one to two hundred years ago, when first discovered by Europeans. The plants we offer have been cultivated and propagated for two or three generations.
Our plants are container grown and relatively free of pests and diseases. If you are not satisfied with your order, please contact us within one week of receipt.
We have relocated to our new bulb farm in Brooksville, Florida. We will grow many new things in the ground here where temperatures are cooler in the winter months further expanding. A colleague's recent acquisition of a palm and cycad nursery has provided us with access to some unique and rare cycads and palms to broker.
