Native to south/central Florida, this species grows in open pines and savannah/marsh conditions. Bulbs grow best in a well draining mix kept wet and placed in full sun. Winter dormancy.

This aquatic species grows in the rivers and spring runs of north central Florida. A little difficult to establish, but once settled in they flower regularly in late spring. The flowers (3/scape) are robust and rotate with broad tepals and large corona. Likes shade. *Limited offering.

Hymenocallis sp. dressler's Spider Lily

This species was collected in Guatemala years ago and does not fit the description of the two known Guatemalan species (H. tenuiflora and H. guatemalensis). Words can not describe the splendor of this plant blooming. The flowers are very large with deep chalice-like cups; the floral tube fills with nectar and emitting a strong scent attracting moths at night. Likes water. Winter dormancy not required.

Hymenocallis  'Tropical Giant'

A name often misapplied to the species H. carribbeae, H. littoralis and H. lattifolia.  However, it is not known if 'Tropical Giant' is a species or of hybrid origin.  They are huge by all standards.  Easy to grow in large pots.  These plants are self-fertile and produce a healthy batch of seeds each summer.
